Beach Breakfast
Members meet once a month, March through October, to enjoy a catered breakfast
and a walk on the beach.
Beach Picnic
Catered picnics and cookouts are held monthly, April through October, at a local
beach. The social hour and sunsets are a favorite part of this activity.
Book Club
Meetings are held monthly to discuss selected books of current interest.
Day Trips
Excursions to places of interest in the surrounding area are planned on a
monthly basis. Past events include Tampa Bay Downs, Marie Selby Gardens, Edison
& Ford Winter Estates, and Ringling Museum of Art.

Dining Adventures
Visit new or favorite restaurants throughout the year. Members enjoy a relaxed
social occasion while experiencing a variety of cuisines.
Dining In
Groups of 6-8 meet for dinner in participants’ homes on a rotating
basis. Hosts prepare the entrée and guests bring an
appetizer/salad/dessert to complete the meal.
Games
Fun and games are offered throughout the month including: Bridge,
Bunco, Euchre, Hand and Foot, Mah-Jongg, Mexican Train/Dominoes,
and Poker.

General Meeting and Luncheon
The Club’s General Meeting is held monthly at different local
country clubs. A short meeting is followed by a luncheon and guest
speaker or entertainment.

Golf
A weekly event for all levels of golfers is held at various area courses. Dinner
for players and their spouse/partner takes place that evening at a local
restaurant .

Lunch Bunch
An informal monthly lunch is held at various popular local restaurants with
spirited conversation and camaraderie.
Night Owls
Enjoy local area night-time activities, such as dances, concerts, plays and
comedy clubs. Schedule varies according to the date of the selected event.
Real Florida
Small groups take to the outdoors to explore the area’s natural environment and
history by bike, hike, canoe, kayak, snorkel or day trip. Schedule varies
according to activity.

R.O.M.E.O.
R.O.M.E.O. (Retired Outstanding Men Eating Out) meets monthly at different local
restaurants for good food and conversation.
Special Events
Special events include an annual golf tournament, a formal Holiday Dinner Dance,
and the Spring Fling which is a theme- based dinner dance.
Sunday Mixer
Monthly informal social get-together held in the evening at various members’
homes. Attendees bring snacks to share and their own beverages.
Venice Newcomers Singles
In addition to ALL general club events, special activities to meet and mix are
planned for Newcomers Singles such as breakfasts, dinners, happy hours, house
parties, movie nights, game nights, and bike rides.
Welcome Reception
All new members are invited to a Welcome Reception hosted by the Board of
Directors where all the Club’s activities and events are explained. These
receptions are given at various times of the year and are by invitation only.
Wine Tasting
This very popular monthly activity is held in a member’s home. Guests each bring
a bottle of wine selected for the theme of the month and an appetizer to share.
The wines are tasted as a group and discussed. Participants enjoy a social get
together while being exposed to wines from all over the world. |
